How It Started

A Problem Too Big to Ignore

In 2008, Robert Chamberlain, a former Canadian Forces logistics officer, stood in a Yellowknife airport watching $12 million in gold doré being loaded onto a commercial flight in cardboard boxes. After two tours managing high-value military supply chains, he knew the gap between the value of what was being moved and how it was being moved was unacceptable.

Within six months, he had secured three armored vehicles, recruited eleven former military and RCMP colleagues, and signed his first contract with a Yukon gold mining operation. Royal Canadian Logistics Security Company was born.

From those three vehicles, we have grown into Canada's leading mineral logistics provider — 250+ professionals across 12 facilities serving 120+ mining operations, gold refineries, government mints, and financial institutions. In 18 years, we have transported over $50 billion in precious minerals with zero losses.

"We don't just move cargo. We move wealth, livelihoods, and the building blocks of the global economy. That responsibility shapes everything we do."

Our Mission

To provide the most secure, reliable, and transparent logistics service for precious commodities anywhere in the world. Every protocol, every technology investment, every hire reflects that singular focus.

Canada produces over $50 billion in mineral wealth annually — gold, platinum, palladium, diamonds, uranium, lithium, and rare earth elements. We exist to ensure that wealth moves safely from extraction to its final destination, whether that is a vault in Toronto, a refinery in Zurich, or a mint in London.

Founded in Toronto

Robert Chamberlain launched Royal Canadian Logistics Security Company with 3 armored vehicles and 12 former military and security professionals. The first contract came from a Yukon gold mining operation that had been shipping gold doré on commercial flights. Within the first year, we completed 47 shipments with a perfect safety record, establishing the foundation of trust that would define the company for decades to come.

2011

First Major Contract

Secured an exclusive multi-year transport agreement with one of Canada's top 5 gold producers, a deal that validated our approach and proved the model worked at scale. Revenue surpassed $10M for the first time. The team grew to 35 professionals, including our first dedicated customs brokerage specialists for cross-border mineral shipments.

2014

Vault Network Launched

Opened three Class III vault facilities in Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary — each engineered to standards that exceeded anything available in the Canadian market. These vaults feature biometric access control, 24/7 armed security, climate-controlled environments, and comprehensive CCTV monitoring. Lloyd's of London certified our facilities for coverage up to $500 million per vault, a milestone that set us apart from every competitor.

2017

National Expansion

Expanded to 8 locations nationwide, adding strategic hubs in Yellowknife, Montreal, Winnipeg, and Edmonton. Launched RCL-Track, our proprietary satellite tracking platform that gives clients real-time visibility into every shipment's location, environmental conditions, and seal integrity. The team grew to 120+ professionals, and we began handling shipments for government mints and central banks.

2020

International Operations

Extended our reach beyond Canada's borders with secure air and sea freight services to London, Zurich, Dubai, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Opened our first bonded warehouse facility, enabling duty-free storage and seamless customs clearance for international precious metals shipments. Established partnerships with leading international security firms for end-to-end chain of custody across borders.

2023

AI-Powered Logistics

Introduced AI-driven route optimization that analyzes weather patterns, road conditions, security threats, and traffic data in real time to calculate the safest and fastest path for every shipment. Predictive risk assessment capabilities reduced average transit times by 23% while enhancing security protocols. Deployed next-generation IoT sensors for temperature, humidity, shock, and tamper monitoring across our entire fleet.

2026

Industry Leadership

Now operating 12 secure facilities with 250+ employees serving 120+ clients, handling over $150 million in precious cargo monthly. Launched the Vault Asset Management platform, giving storage clients real-time portfolio monitoring, market valuations, and trade request capabilities. Recognized as Canada's largest and most trusted specialized mineral logistics provider, with a flawless 18-year zero-loss safety record that stands unmatched in the industry.
